He is Professor of Political Science at the Faculty of Political Science and International Relations at the Università della Valle d'Aosta (Italy). His research focuses on modern and contemporary political thought. Based on the study of modern contractualism (has dedicated important works to Immanuel Kant, Thomas Hobbes and vision Illustrated Encyclopedic), is currently dedicated to the relationship between peace, democracy and fundamental rights in the context of global processes of social transformation and policy (with particular attention to issues such as multiculturalism and migration). His recent books include Liberalism and multiculturalism. A democratic sfida per il pensiero (2000) and Ius migrandi. Figures wander on this side of the cosmopolis (2006). He has collaborated on works Readings civil society (2007) The basics of fundamental rights (42009), both published in the same Publisher. He is a member of the Società Italiana di Filosofia Politica and editor of the journal Political Theory.
