This book by James Alison is much more than an attempt to build a theology from a gay Catholic. Through a (re) reading profound and original of the Scriptures, which the author proposes a reflection on the mechanisms that lead to exclusion and persecution of another within the Catholic Church and society in general. The response from Alison, who has himself been persecuted and excluded due to its status as an openly gay Catholic priest, is not an attack on religious institutions, or an allegation of victimization for gay identity. By contrast, the response of Alison is looking in the Catholic tradition how to overcome anger and learn to live as brothers and without resentment, that is, without counter violence with violence.
