Volume 3 of fields of action consists of the text of Kristine Stiles "unimpaired Joy: international artistic actions". The trial, which does not follow a chronological sequence is divided into an introduction and eleven chapters: "Art in the culture," "Commissures: art actions as objects", "From action to performance", "assimilations and deletions" "We, multiple", "days", "Activities", "Painting-photography-performance", "In a dusty corner balance and eternity", "cosmologies" and "Joy unimpaired." Stiles reflection revolves around the happenings and manifestations of "fury" represented in the body and the subject-object arising from post-war conditions in the US, Europe, Japan and South relationship. It places particular emphasis on the art of feminist action coupled with the movements of the sixties and seventies, and the transformation of the concept of the body that entailed.

The final section devoted to the chronology in this volume covers 1969 to 1979.
