Nikola Madzirov (Strumica, 1973) is a poet, essayist and translator. His first book, Locked in the city (1999), was awarded as the best debutante book of Macedonia. In the same year it is published in somewhere of nowhere, Aco Karamanov Prize. Stone moved (2007) earned him the Hubert Burda Prize for poetry in Eastern Europe and the most prestigious Miladinov Brothers Award for this literary genre Macedonia. He was coordinator of the network Lyrikline poetic and poetry editor of the literary and cultural magazine Blesok. He has received numerous international scholarships as the IWP at the University of Iowa, Tandem Project in Berlin, KulturKontakt in Vienna or Munich Willa Waldberta.
