This book presents a collective research on the problem of gender violence in higher education institutions, analyzing the particular case of the Autonomous University of Mexico City (UACM) in the five schools that compose it.

The authors first offer a diagnosis of violence against women and of gender among university students from a quantitative perspective and identify the presence of violence in its different types and manifestations -sexual, physical, emotional, psychological and patrimonial- in the family Of origin, in the courtship, in the couple, in the marriage and in the union (depending on the case and the marital status of the people surveyed)

In a second moment, they explore from a qualitative approach the situations of violence and gender violence experienced by university students of the UACM.

Thus, the study reveals the types of violence experienced in the five schools, explains the practices of violence against women in their different dimensions, and recognizes students' opinions about violent practices Between them and how they identify them.

Finally, the authors consider the actions that the UACM institutions have developed to prevent and eradicate violence in the university community, and propose some recommendations to the university community and the Federal District government to promote awareness and Identification of the problem with a view to favoring the attention and prevention of gender violence in university contexts.
