Patricia Torres Mejía

Professor-Researcher attached to CIESAS since 2001. Social anthropologist dedicated to studies on work, violence, gender and migration with a theoretical-methodological approach to political economy. Field research in the Philippines (Luzon) and Mexico (Hidalgo and Baja California Sur). Realizes research on the history of anthropology and intercultural universities in Mexico. He currently directs the CIESAS-Mexico City Unit. He is in charge of the Geographic Information Systems Laboratory and represents CIESAS in the Arturo Warman Interinstitutional Chair. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the College of Ethnologists and Social Anthropologists, A.C. Co-director of the Latin American Journal of Labor Anthropology (Ceil-Conycet / Ciesas-Conacyt) PhD and masters in sociocultural anthropology by The Johns Hopkins University USA, BA in Social Anthropology from the Universidad Iberoamericana, Mexico.
