A writer - who works as a night watchman in a financial building - tells the story of his peculiar Cuban friend Manuel, who lives in La Bailonga, a dilapidated house located in a bourgeois province in southern Germany.
Manuel's life has not been easy: he lost his mother because of drugs and his stepfather, a German drug trafficker in Cuba. As if that were not enough, Manuel has received a letter of deportation from the German government. When the police arrive to arrest him it seems that the story ends, however it goes back and restarts a new version of the arrest.
The originality and extravagance of Manuel trap the reader from the first page. We are dealing with a story that unfolds a discursive deck where the narrator plays catch-up with the reader.
