Geraldino Brasil

Geraldino Brasil is a pseudonym of Geraldo Lopes Ferreira (1926-1996).
He lived mainly in Recife, married to Creuza Maurício, painter and sculptor. His daughters, Beatriz and Moema, prolong the exceptional qualities of the poet and the artist.
He was one of those few writers that one becomes close friends with when reading them. It exerted a rare attraction. Many people traveled to meet him. It transmitted what nobody gives because it does not have: happiness. He was heard of in Brazil after having become famous in Colombia for widely disseminated translations of his book "One Hundred Poems" (Third World Publishers, 1982). Many of these texts are included in this edition.
