Napoleón Gómez Urrutia (Monterrey, Nuevo León, August 18, 1944) son of the mining union leader Napoleón Gómez Sada. He holds a bachelor's degree in economics from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) and studied postgraduate studies at the University of Oxford, England, and for 12 years he was director of the Mexican Mint, holding the position until 2002. Later he would be elected General Secretary of the National Union of Mining, Metallurgical, Steelworkers and Similar Workers of the Mexican Republic. In 2018 he took protest as Senator of the Mexican Republic.
