Buenos Aires, Argentina, 1951. Political scientist and essayist, sociologist from the University of Buenos Aires, master from the Universidad del Salvador, Buenos Aires, and doctor of Political Sciences from the Complutense University of Madrid. He has lived in Spain, Brazil and Italy, and is a principal investigator at Conicet, the Gino Germani Institute (UBA) and the Center for Political Research (CIPOL). He has taught undergraduate and postgraduate courses at universities in Argentina, Brazil, Spain and Uruguay. He is a member of the Argentine Political Club, the Argentine Society for Political Analysis and the Associação Brasileira de Ciência Política, and Guggenheim 2006 Fellowship. He is dedicated to issues of comparative Latin American politics and recent Argentine political history and is the author of several books and numerous articles. His work Salt in the wounds. Las Malvinas in contemporary Argentine culture (Buenos Aires, 2007) obtained the LASA Iberoamerica 2009 award and the third National Culture Award in 2011.
