Valentín Roma was born in Ripollet in 1970 and currently lives in Barcelona. For some seasons he was a footballer. Doctor in History of Art and Philosophy from the University of Southampton, professor of Contemporary Art Theories at the UAB, has curated exhibitions of contemporary art in Spain and abroad, from the Picasso Museum, the Tàpies Foundation or the CaixaForum in his city to the Biennale from Venice or the Kunstverein from Stuttgart. He was chief curator of the Barcelona Museum of Contemporary Art (MACBA) and is currently director of La Virreina Centro de la Imagen de Barcelona. Periférica published in 2011 her book Faces, halfway between fiction and essay, and in 2017, her first novel, Lenin's Nurse.
