Yolanda Colom (Guatemala, 1947) is a revolutionary and educator with experience in unofficial teaching among marginalized and exploited social sectors.

She was a member of the Guerrilla Army of the Poor (EGP) for eleven years and for another nine, in Revolutionary October.

In addition to this book, she has lectured and written numerous articles and reports. Among them: Ideological State Apparatuses (1971) or Insurgency and Counterinsurgency in Guatemala (1984).

This volume is the extraordinary testimony of her participation in the guerrilla between 1973 and 1978. Among other activities, Yolanda Colom takes care of the political and literary legacy of her partner, Mario Payeras (1940-1994), whose work will be published by Pepitas in this same collection, in its classics section.
