Dario Franceschini published his first novel, "Nelle vene quell acqua d argento" in 2006, for which he won the Premier Roman di Chambéry in France and, in Italy, the Opera Prima Città di Penne prize and the Bacchelli prize. He subsequently published La follia improvvisa di Ignazio Rando, on which a play of the same name was based, followed by the plays Daccapo, Mestieri immateriali by Sebastiano Delgado and Disadorna. His novels are translated into France by Gallimard. Since 2021 he has been Minister of Culture in the Draghi government, after having held the same position for six years in the governments of Renzi, Gentiloni and Conte, leaving office in 2023.
