Lai Ma (1968) worked as an illustrator for magazines and newspapers aimed at children, and after a story he published in Taiwan he decided to start writing.

That was 20 years ago and to date he has written 14 books. He has won some awards, but he does not feel successful: “I am an artist who enjoys what he does and above all that readers like it.”
