Aura García-Junco was born in Mexico City in 1988. She studied Classical Literature at the National Autonomous University of Mexico. She is a writer and screenwriter. She published her first novel, Anticitera, aparato dentado (Fondo Editorial Tierra Adentro, Booket), in 2018 and her second book, El día que aprendí que no sé amar (Seix Barral), an essay on love and sexual-affective relationships from a critical perspective, in 2021. In that same year, she was selected by Granta magazine as one of the 25 most outstanding young narrators in Spanish. In 2022, Seix Barral published her second novel, Mar de piedra. Since 2020, she has combined literary writing with scriptwriting for film and television.
