
Fernando Trejo (Tuxtla Gutiérrez, 1985). He has published, among other poetry books, Cuaderno invertebrado (San Marcos Floral Games Award 2006), Las alas de mis ensoñaciones que son pájaros (Max Rojas Young Literature Award 2011), Solana (honorable mention of the Elías Nandino National Young Poetry Award 2014), Ciervos (Enoch Cancino Casahonda Unpublished Poetry Award 2014), Base Atenas (Rodulfo Figueroa Central American Poetry Award 2015), La abuela está en la casa porque he visto su voz (Alonso Vidal National Poetry Award 2018) and Tristera (Tijuana National Poetry Award 2022). He is the winner of the State Youth Prize for Poetry from the state of Chiapas. He was a PECDA Chiapas fellow in 2005, 2008, and 2022; and a FONCA Young Creators program fellow in 2018. He directs the Carruaje de Pájaros Art and Culture Collective. In 2020, the Association of Poets and Writers of the state of Chiapas awarded him the Armando Duvaliar Medal for his poetic career.
