David Betancourt (1982), a Colombian writer based in Puebla, has a long history of publishing stories in which humor is the main theme. With Ataques de risa (Attacks of Laughter)—published this year by the Universidad Veracruzana—he creates, as in his other books, a kind of universe in which characters wander, searching for a stroke of luck, something that will change their destiny.
