Leonardo Lomelí Vanegas, rector of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), a position he assumed on November 17, 2023 for the period 2023-2027. He is a leading Mexican economist, historian and academic who has a career of more than three decades within the country’s top house of studies. Prior to his appointment by the Governing Board, he served as general secretary of the university (2015-2023) under the management of Enrique Graue.
