Galeano wanted to be a footballer. But since he only played well in the dream world, he preferred to dedicate himself to telling the fanaticism of the fans, the geniuses of the great players and the stories of the matches that moved the world.

Its author, Leonardo Lomelí Venegas – a prominent researcher, economist, historian, academic and current rector of the UNAM – displays an analytical perspective from political economy to discern more clearly the stages of economic reconstruction, the consolidation of the post-revolutionary state and the evolution of social relations after the Mexican Revolution. Lomelí also takes an effective approach to expose how political and economic relations with other nations conditioned recovery and led to a slow rearticulation of the links between the State and the various economic actors.
