Andres A. Fabregas Puig. He was born in Tuxtla Gutiérrez, Chiapas, on February 14, 1945. He studied elementary, middle and high school in his hometown. Graduated from the Institute of Sciences and Arts of Chiapas, he moved to Mexico City to enter the UNAM, to the Faculty of Engineering. In 1965 he enrolled in the National School of Anthropology and History where he completed a master's degree in anthropological sciences, with a degree in ethnology and a specialty in ethnohistory.
