José Manuel Quesada López

Graduated in Geography and History from the Complutense University of Madrid, he obtained a PhD from the same university with the Doctoral Thesis “Settlement Models and Subsistence Strategies in the Cantabrian Upper Paleolithic” (read in 1997)

From the time he read his thesis until 2004, he carried out research work as a fellow at various universities, first at the Complutense University of Madrid and later at the National Distance Education University.

Research activity
His main line of research is related to Paleolithic studies in eastern Asturias, derived from long years of study in various caves in that region, particularly El Buxu, La Güelga and Collubil, currently still in progress. Among the complementary lines of study, Cultural Heritage Management stands out, particularly in the field of teaching.

Professional experience
Since 2004 he has been part of the teaching team of the latter university in the Department of Prehistory and Archeology. At the same time, he has worked as tutors at the Associated Center since 2001, particularly in the subjects of General Prehistory and Prehistory and Protohistory of the Iberian Peninsula. He is the author of studies on the Middle and Upper Paleolithic of the Cantabrian Coast, particularly in the field of archaeozoology.
