Makoto Shinkai. Animation director born in 1973 in Nagano (Japan). He made her first short film Her and Her Cat while working at a video game company. With Voices of a Distant Star, released in 2002, he won numerous awards, including the Audience Award at the Tokyo International Anime Fair 21. The Place We Promised, from 2004, received the Award for Best Animated Film at the Mainichi Film Awards. His works 5 cm per second (2007) and The Garden of Words (2013) have also been highly acclaimed. His latest successful creations are Your name (2016) and El tiempo contti (2019).
