This anthology by Gabriela Mistral, one of the fundamental writers of the twentieth century in Spanish, brings together the four books of poetry that the author published in life: Desolación, Ternura, Tala and Lagar. To them are added unpublished poetic works that he did not give to press, such as Poema de Chile and Lagar II; a selection of other unpublished and scattered poems, and varied samples of his prose. It includes complementary texts about the author and her work by Gonzalo Rojas, Pedro Luis Barcia and Darío Villanueva, among other critics, as well as a bibliography, a repertoire of proper names and a glossary.
