This book is the result of a collective effort to think about Political Science as a discipline, its state and its perspectives and, also, regarding certain problems and dilemmas posed by contemporary political and social reality in the geographical area of Latin America. The starting point of this joint work is located in the academic conferences held at the Universidad Iberoamericana Mexico City, during the month of October 2014, within the framework of the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Bachelor's Degree in Political Science and Public Administration. from that university. The book has the merit – we believe – of bringing together specialists in Political Science from various Latin American countries, or those currently located in very different and distant latitudes. Therefore, its meditations and discussions related to the discipline and Its problems emerge and are positioned from very diverse and varied representations and contexts. Of course, this influences the way of thinking. So this work contains works that reflect on Political Science in religion, or even on Political Philosophy, and others that do so about specific political and social problems, realities and situations. Thus, this book aims to link reflection on the discipline and, at the same time, put into practice its theoretical and methodological instruments to analyze, diagnose and propose solutions – or simply raise doubts and uncertainties – in relation to different Latin American cases.
