Alberto Álvarez Aura

Born in Barcelona in 1955. Diploma in Social Work. Graduate in Geography and History, specializing in Cultural Anthropology from the University of Barcelona. He has completed Doctorate credits in Urban Anthropology at the Rovira i Virgili University of Tarragona. In the workplace, he has worked 23 years in the municipal primary care social services. He has published two books on popular culture related to the tradition of the giants in Montmeló and the Catalan rumba in Barcelona respectively, and the one entitled Imaginario sociales. The meanings of the imaginary world in the contemporary metropolis (2013). In the field of poetry he has published three books: L’agredolç perfil del solstici (1983); Bes de claror, rebost de llunes (1989) and Aiguasexe (2009). He has edited different articles in professional magazines, as well as works and communications related to his scientific disciplines. In the popular sphere, he has intervened in different neighborhood movements.
