Doctor in Theoretical Physics and Research Professor at the CSIC at the Institute of Theoretical Physics (CSIC-UAM), in Madrid. His research areas are elementary particle physics and cosmology and he has published more than 100 scientific articles in international journals. He has worked for years at the universities of Oxford and California, at the CERN (European Center for Particle Physics) in Geneva, and, for shorter stays, at centers and institutions around the world. His outreach activities include his books The Dark Side of the Universe and The Higgs Boson.
