Ana García Bergua is a narrator and essayist. He was born in Mexico City in 1960. He studied French Literature and Theatrical Scenography at UNAM. He has published the novels The Threshold, Purple, Black Roses, Isla de bobos, La Bomba de San José and Fuego 20; the story books The Imaginator, Trust in Strangers, Another Chance for Mr. Balmand, Limbo in the Rain and Building, as well as the chronicles Postcards from the Harbor and Footer. Many of his stories appear in anthologies. In 1992 he received the Fonca Young Creators scholarship and in 2001 he entered the National Creators System of the same institution. From 1987 to date he has published stories and literary chronicles in various publications; for several years he wrote the column “And now I am going to retire” in La Jornada Semanal. In 2013 she won the Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz Literature Prize for her novel La bomba de San José.
