She has a doctorate in Art History from the National Autonomous University of Mexico. She is a specialist in public artistic interventions and in the aesthetic-political dynamics of the 20th and 21st centuries in Mexico. Her research interest focuses on critical studies on cultural and visual memory, on generating new historiographic narratives as well as the analysis of images in the elaboration of political, social and cultural identities. She has written books about Mexican painters and various articles on muralism, cultural policies, abstract art and international exhibitions.
