Andrés Malamud was born in Olavarría. He received his degree in Political Science with honors from the University of Buenos Aires (UBA) and later completed a doctorate in Social and Political Sciences at the European University Institute.

He lives in Portugal, where he works as a researcher at the University of Lisbon. With a radical political background and tradition, he has claimed to be an orthodox Weberian, although a bit Gramscian.

He is consulted by journalists and editors to shed light on the always hot Argentine political situation. And he does not avoid the challenge: he usually writes in El Estadista and other media and on Twitter he regularly gives his opinion on @andresmalamud.
