Andreu Escrivà

With a degree in Environmental Sciences, a master's degree in Ecosystem Conservation and a PhD in Biodiversity, he has developed his research career at the Center for Research on Desertification (CIDE) and at the Cavanilles Institute of Biodiversity and Evolutionary Biology (ICBiBE). He has published several scientific articles in specialized journals, and carried out training stays at the University of Sheffield (United Kingdom) and at the Lake Biwa Museum in Kusatsu (Japan). He was part of the Committee of Experts on Climate Change of the Valencian Community between 2016 and 2017. He works as a science communicator in his spare time, and collaborates regularly with different media, radio and television. He regularly participates in events, courses and university seminars on science, communication and the environment. In 2016 he won the XXII European Prize for Scientific Dissemination General Study with the book It is not too late: keys to understanding and curbing climate change. He also has several poetry and short story awards, such as the Poesia Jove Alzira (2002), the Vicent Andrés Estellés for youth poetry in Burjassot (2003) or the Solstici de Manises (2006), among others. He has worked as a consultant in sustainability and communication, and is currently an environmental projects technician at the València Clima i Energia foundation, where he is responsible for the Climate Change Observatory. It defines itself as "climate heavy".
