Antón Semiónovich Makárenko

Antón S. Makárenko (1888-1939) was a Russian pedagogue of novel methods, whose working life was marked by the revolutionary politics that ended the tsarist regime in his country. He applied these principles in the Gorki colony, a boarding school for lost adolescents and small vagabonds, where unfortunately his discrepancies with some pedagogical circles were also evidenced, discrepancies that led in 1928 to the breakdown of relations and his estrangement from the colony. He speaks of this experience in his work Pedagogical Poem. His second work, Flags in the Towers of 1932, deals with the experience of the Zerginski Commune, the second colony he directed. In the last years of his life, he wrote the Book for Parents in collaboration with his wife.
