Antonio Pérez-Sánchez is a doctor, psychiatrist and psychoanalyst. He has worked in psychiatric hospitals with acute and chronic patients, as well as in a Mental Health Center as coordinator. He is a didactic member and supervisor of the Spanish Society of Psychoanalysis (SEP), of which he was president (2008-2011) and professor of the Institute of Psychoanalysis of Barcelona. He currently works in private practice as a psychoanalyst and psychotherapist. He is director of the Group of Psychoanalytic Studies of Lisbon (Portuguese Nucleus of Psychoanalysis, belonging to the International Psychoanalytic Association) and member of the European writing team of the IPA-Inter-Regional Encyclopedic Dictionary of Psychoanalysis (Encyclopedic Dictionary of Psychoanalysis of the IPA). He is the author of several books on the technical aspects of psychoanalytic psychotherapy and psychoanalysis, some translated into English and Italian, as well as articles on psychological phenomena such as envy, psychic truth, forgiveness and temporality, published in national and international magazines.
