Psychotic organization of the personality approaches in a novel way the psychology of the psychotic patient from the detailed account of the author's experience in the psychoanalytic treatment of a schizophrenic patient, offering an understanding of the dynamics of his relationship with the analyst from different angles. One of the challenges we encounter with psychotic patients, especially in the so-called "schizophrenic" patients, is how to help them to experience the experiences they feel as ineffable as their own, to tolerate and verbalize them. The present book, in the wake of the psychoanalytic tradition, emphasizes the psychological comprehensibility of such patients in their particular way of defending themselves against psychic suffering, so that professionals and the public in general do not limit themselves to consider them "alienated". The theoretical developments of the work take as reference landmarks to Freud, Klein and Bion, together with authors of contemporary Kleinian thought. In this sense, Antonio Pérez-Sánchez reconsiders Bion's ideas about the "psychotic personality" and Steiner's ideas about the "pathological organization" to make a proposal to define the "psychotic organization of personality" (OPsP).
