Ashley Belote grew up on a sheep farm in Terra Alta, West Virginia. Although these sheep weren't pirates, Ashley witnessed some of their adventures in the woods, along the roads, and even, sometimes, in the neighbors' meadows… Baa! Now those warm memories have inspired her, and she spends hours creating humorous picture books for the enjoyment of readers, pirates, and the occasional sheep.
