Augusto Mora

Augusto Mora. Mexico City, 1984. Contributor to the magazine El Chamuco y los hijos del averno. His work has participated in exhibitions in cities such as Monterrey, Cozumel, Mexico City, Madrid, Bourges, Chicago, Houston and Quebec. In 2010 he received first place in the National Graphic Novel Award from Editorial JUS for his work El Maizo, la maldición del cepa and in 2017 he was a finalist in the Secuenciarte contest at the Pixelatl Festival. He is the author of the books Muerte Querida (Caligrama, 2012), Tiempos Muertos (Resistencia, 2012), Fuertes Declaraciones (Animal Gráfico, 2015), Grito de Victoria (La Cifra, 2017), Encuentro en la Tormenta (Animal Gráfico 2018) and Illegal Cargo (Black Panel Press, 2020). She has been awarded the FONCA Young Creators grant in the Graphic Narrative discipline on two occasions. In 2019, she completed an artistic residency in Quebec City, Canada, supported by the FONCA Artistic Residencies program, the Quebec Centre for Arts and Letters (CALQ) and the QuébecBD festival. In 2019, she received a second prize in the III Ibero-American Cities Graphic Novel Award convened by the UCCI.
