Avinash Chandra

Avinash Chandra (August 28, 1931 - September 15, 1991) was an Indian painter who lived and worked in the United Kingdom. He was born on August 28, 1931 in Shimla, India, and was raised there and in Delhi. Her father was the manager of the Cecil Hotel in Delhi. He attended and then taught at the Delhi Polytechnic. Chandra won first prize at the First National Art Exhibition in New Delhi in 1954 and the Prix Européen gold medal in 1962.
