Benito Elías García-Valero is a Doctor in Literary Studies from the University of Alicante. His main research interests are the relationships between literature and science, contemporary Japanese literature, comparative myth criticism, and studies of the fantasy and neo-fantastical genre.

He has carried out research stays at the University of Sheffield and at the University of Osaka, and obtained the First Prize for Young Research granted by the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters of the University of Alicante (2012).
