Bernhard Uhde (1948, Augsburg) is a doctor in Philosophy and Theology. He has been a professor at the Institute of Religious Studies of Systematic Theology at the University of Freiburg im Breisgau, director of the Institut West-Östliche Weisheit an der Universität Freiburg (2011-2015) and currently directs the Institut für interreligiöse Studien Freiburg.
He is the author of numerous scientific publications in the field of religious history, Catholic theology and philosophy; especially, on the understanding of universal religions, as well as on Islam, mysticism and the philosophy of religion.
