Brenda Ríos

Born in Acapulco, Guerrero in 1975. Essayist, poet and translator. He studied the Master's Degree in Latin American Literature at the UNAM. She has been a professor in the School of Communication of the UI, in the IEMS and in the career in Intercultural Development and Management and in the Center for Latin American Studies, both of the UNAM. He has taught creative writing, essay, chronicle and poetry workshops in different spaces in Mexico City, Guerrero and Veracruz. She was cultural manager for the government of Mexico City and director of a cultural house dependent on the Benito Juárez delegation. She was an editor at the Publications Department of the UAM. He is a member of the Editorial Board of the Casa del Tiempo magazine of the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana and the Perros del Alba magazine. She was part of the Editorial Board of the culture section of the newspaper Reforma in the period 2015. Founder of the publishing of electronic books cuadronegroediciones.com. He has translated work by Nádia Batella Gotlib, Rubens Figueiredo, João Filho, Joaquim Machado de Assis, Adélia Prado, Anne Sexton and Assionara Souza. Collaborator of Casa del Tiempo, El Universal, This Country, Criticism, La Jornada, Luvina, La Otra Magazine, Unidiversidad and Tierra Adentro, among others. Beneficiary of the Fonca-Conacyt Free Management Artistic Residency Program -2010-2011 in Brazil and PECDA Artistic Stimulation Program, Guerrero, 2010-2011. She was a Fellow of the Young Creators Program of the FONCA in the period 2009-2010 and the first generation of the Fundación para las Letras Mexicanas program, 2003-2004. National Poetry Prize Ignacio Manuel Altamirano 2013. Part of his work is part of compilations Private Function, writers and film (Georgina Hernández Samaniego, Cineteca Nacional, 2013) and Gilberto Owen, with a voice in each port, (Roxana Elvridge -Thomas, Tierra Adentro, 2004). Part of his work has been translated into Portuguese.
