Bruno Snell (1896-1987) was a professor at the University of Hamburg and gained prestige as an editor of Pindar, Bacchylides, and the archaic Greek lyrics. Author of a large number of essays on the Greek world, his work stands out for a completely original anthropological and linguistic perspective.
