He holds a PhD in Linguistic Studies (Universityof California, Berkeley). Visiting Professor at the University of Tokyo (1985-1990), is currently a professor of Japanese literature at the Complutense University of Madrid (CES Felipe II, Aranjuez). He is coauthor of Hajimete no Supeingo (1989), the New English-Japanese Dictionary of Kenkyusha and Crown Japanese-English Dictionary of Sanseido. He is also a translator of the poetry anthology Kokinshu of the modern novel Kokoro and author of Keys and texts of Japanese literature.
Alongside Moratalla Rumi Tani has previously collaborated Spanish to pour other classics, as Heike monogatari (2005) and Kojiki. Chronicles of old facts of Japan (2008), published in this Editorial.
