Catalina Serna studied Industrial Design at the Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Education (ITESM). She is the mother of two children, Luca and Eugenia. When her son Luca was diagnosed with autism, she discovered a huge lack of information, resources, and awareness about autism spectrum disorder (ASD), especially in her country. She decided to become an autism advocate and create unique materials to help both families and professionals. In 2015, she launched an awareness campaign called "Light It Up Blue for Autism," in which soccer stars from around the world participated and spoke about autism. This campaign quickly gained international recognition and distribution. In 2016, she created another campaign with soccer players called "Light Our Hearts Up Blue." In 2017, she published her first children's book, "My Brother Luca: A Story About Autism," in which her children are the main characters. It is an interactive book that explains autism in an easy and fun way and has sold over 5,500 copies. In 2019 he co-produced and co-directed his first animated short film called "My Brother Luca" (Mi hermano Luca), which was inspired by his book.
