Cedric J. Robinson (1940-2016) was a professor at the University of California. Activist and militant in various black radical organizations, he has been one of the great figures of Black Studies in the United States and of the dialogue of this tradition with other radical political currents, mainly those of Marxist inspiration. His books are The Termes of Order (1980), Black Movements in America (1997), and The Anthropology of Marxism (2001).
