Christa Wolf

He was born in Landsberg an der Warthe in 1929 and died in Berlin in December 2011. He studied German language and literature in Jena and Leipzig, and soon began working as a literary critic. In 1974 she was elected a member of the East Berlin Academy of Arts, and from 1981 she was also a member of the West Berlin Academy of Fine Arts.
