Iranian philosopher and novelist, studied in Tehran and Paris. He was professor of Sanskrit and Indian religions at Tehran University, and director of the Iranian Centre for the study of civilizations. Disciple of Henry Corbin has done important research on mysticism and Persian poetry. Considered one of the most important thinkers of Iran, has also addressed Shayegan Cultural Theory, comparative philosophy and philosophy of religion.
