Dominique Wolton, born April 26, 1947 in Douala, Cameroon, is a French sociologist.

Director of research at the CNRS in communication sciences, he specializes in media, public space, political communication, and the relationship between science, technology and society. His research contributes to promoting a conception of communication that privileges man and democracy rather than technique and economics
