Born March 15, 1950. He earned his PhD (Ph.D.) at the University of St. Andrews, in St. Andrews, Scotland. Professor for more than twenty years at the Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Illinois, and professor of New Testament at Wheaton College Graduate School since 2000. Member of the translation committee of the NIV. He has published several theological works and commentaries on the Bible, highlighting among them his Introduction to the New Testament (written together with DA Carson and León Morris) and his Commentary on the Epistle to the Romans (part of the series of comments NIV to the New Testament) . His areas of current research are the Epistle to the Romans, theology and Pauline exegesis in general and the Theology of the Environment.
