Eduardo Pérez Maseda (Madrid, 1953) is a composer and sociologist. Author of the book Alban Berg (1985), his musical work has been widely distributed both nationally and internationally. He is in possession, among others, of the Isaac Albéniz Composition Award, from the Government of Catalonia (1984), the Musician's Accord (New York, 1986), and the SIMC (International Society of Contemporary Music) Festival of Amsterdam, in 1989. He is the author of two operas, Light of the Dark Flame, premiered in Madrid in 1991, and The Appearance (Bonhomet and the Swan), premiered in 2003 at the XIX Alicante International Festival of Contemporary Music.
