Elena Larrauri

He is professor of criminal law and criminology at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra (Barcelona). He has conducted and directed research in alternative sentencing, gender and criminal law from a criminological perspective (Criminology criticism and gender violence, Trotta, 2007). He is responsible for the creation of the Degree of Criminology and Public Prevention Policies, which currently runs at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra, and director of the Interuniversity Official Master's Degree in Criminology and Criminal Enforcement. He has enjoyed the most prestigious research grants (von Humboldt and Fulbright) and has been president of the European Society of Criminology, which is actively involved. He is on the editorial board of many journals and author of reference books in criminology (The legacy of critical criminology and together with José Cid criminological theories).
