Erasmus of Rotterdam (Rotterdam, 1466 - Basel, 1536), known as "the Prespector of Europe," is the representative par excellence of Renaissance Humanism, who sought to reform the Church and society in search of ethical and cultural progress of the human being. After studying the great literatus and philosophers Grecolatinos, he ordered monk in 1490 and began working as secretary of the Bishop of Cambrai, committed that allowed him to travel throughout Europe and establish ties with other humanists from the time. In addition to which we present today, among the most important works of him, praise of stupidity (1511) and Education of the Christian Prince (1516) are counted.
